Machu Picchu — a place everyone thinks they've already been. We felt it first in Neruda's poetry, long before we bought a ticket. And then we actually went — the stones were still there, time was still there, and so were all those people who never left their names behind.
This film is guided by Pablo Neruda's poem "Alturas de Machu Picchu" — Heights of Machu Picchu. Through the interweaving of image and verse, it gazes at the silent weight behind this city of stone.
